lol this whole thing is pretty funny. and by funny i mean funny stupid not funny ha ha.
couple of points...on the white thing. i dont know how other "white" people on this forum think but skin colour is not something i use to define "my kind". i would be bias towards aussie or greek fighters for sure, ill mostly default to cheering them on. thats who id have an emotional attachment to. i have zero attachment to a ukrainian. i love lomo cos of how he fights. by your definition i should be barracking for fury, but i'll take wilder any day. favourite boxer of all time ? ali. favourite sportsperson of all time #23. all my fave fighters of all time are either black or mexican. i cant think of a single white fighter ive ever loved other than kostya but thats cos he is aussie, not cos hes white. but hold up...is monzon white ? lol
gatti/ ward got media coverage cos they were 2 dudes that gave their heart and soul. they left nothing in the ring. theres story behind their fights much deeper than boxing. mcgregor...same thing...theres story and hype around him. his skin colour is irrelevant i suspect to most normal people.
Maybe youre one of the only Aussie/Greek guy that doesnt root for their own. But history has shown that in boxing people get behind their own. Generally speaking that is a fact. Now there are fighters like Ali, Tyson and Pacquio that transcend color and nationality. I'm a big Tyson fan always have been and also a big Jordan fan like you. But i'm talking Irish fans turning Las Vegas into a St. Patricks parade for Mcgregor fights. I'm talking Chavez filling the arena with Mexican fans back in the 80s. And Italian Americans getting behind Messi, Gatti, Marciano and to a lesser degree Paulie Malinaggi. Or how about all the polish fans showing up at Golotas fight starting riots? O brazilian fans at Freitas Popo's fights? All the brothas on the money team? White people supporting Jerry Cooney? The great white hope. Movies made about this phenomenom cant be lies.
