Joshua with a distinct lack of intensity coming into the ring.

I would hazard a guess that the crowd is booing the USA instead of Ruiz. Wrong place, wrong time.

Halfway decent first round. Using his new found "Boxing" skills. Ruiz cut alongside the left eye. Joshua round. 10-9 Joshua.

Ruiz did a better job of getting inside in the second round but Joshua landed enough of his poking and prodding punches from the outside to carry the round. Joshua also cut over the left eye. Joshua round. 20-18 Joshua.

Joshua has no intention of getting close to Ruiz. Joshua's punch output dropped in the third. Joshua landed enough jabs to win round, Joshua round. 30-27 Joshua.

Ruiz found Joshua's chin in the last 15 seconds of the round and the Joshua legs went a little funny. Late surge gives Ruiz the round. Ruiz round. 39-37 Joshua.

Joshua now using the jab as a defensive strategy. He landed enough to win the round although Ruiz dictated the terms of the round. Joshua round, 49-46 Joshua.

Joshua is using boxing skills this fight and Ruiz has barely touched him. Joshua has controlled the fight with his feet and jab.

It's getting a little tedious now. Nothing new to report.

Ruiz takes the 8th, more aggressive and landed some decent shots. Ruiz round. Joshua 78-74.

Gave the round to Ruiz based on aggression. Ruiz round. 87-85 Joshua. Joshua is looking for the finish line already.

Nothing new to report here. Joshua on the bicycle just trying to make the finish line.

What a boring fight. Joshua on his bicycle all night. He has all the tools to knockout this bum Ruiz. What's he waiting for? As a AJ fan its frustrating.

Should be 9-3 or 8-4 Joshua. I'd be surprised if it's closer than that.

Well its good for the hw division to get the garbage fights out of the way. Ortiz and Ruiz are out now hopefully we get Joshua vs Wilder. Thats really the only fight that matters.

I agree he fought the right strategy I just wish he would have taken more chances to get the finish.

Agree. Joshua turned into Wladimir Klitchko before our eyes.

English fans cheering after the fight as if they're happy with that borefest. They like action and knockouts, too.
