That sounds pretty cool - I have a lot of belief in the old school methods which is why I have incorporated pullups and dips into my routine for the last two years.
I would love to try out the rope climb again but it's been over 17 years since the last time! The old fashioned school/ military gyms would have the facilities but my present gym does not have high enough ceilings let alone ropes. Good work on the 3 ascents.
One day, I'd like to go back to my pallet making routes and try out a bit of the old wood chopping like Oscar De Le Hoya did before the Vargas fight. Vargas went in that fight looking twice as strong as De La Hoya yet De La Hoya had the steel in the end.
Old school techniques give you the REAL strength. Ask the question: Who would you rather have help move your house effects? A farmer or a weightlifter? Weightlifters would be useful until they'd climbed up their 3rd flight of stairs.
