You can train all you want but everyone knows your diet is about 70% of it. Let's have a look inside your lunchbox.

in my experience the whole 'diet is 70% of it' thing is a bit of a myth. More like 25%, IMO. That said I generally eat good at the worst of times, maybe if I had spells of eating McDonalds and Cola all day I i'd feel different.

My diet is seriously boring as hell....but then, Im not one of those (usually fat people) who regard food as entertainment, so it does me fine. same meals over and over - tuna, potatoes and veg; eggs & oatcakes; chicken, brocolli & bread; raw salmon string beans, sweet potato; beans & toast; wheatabix with mixed fruit and 1ltr of milk; cottage cheese; peanuts; + loads of Olive oil, fruit, loads of full fat milk. Over and over and over again 6 times a day, in some combination of those. Cheap and easy. :)

Supes, that is being a little personal :wink7:

V similar to Hut*hut - all the foods he listed there are great for having approx 6 small portioned 'meals' per day - when I'm being good.

I do enjoy food, so I will eat what I want and as I've been attending the gym so often in the last year and a half (not boasting, I just am pleased w/ my consistency), I keep the shape.

A good (or boring) day would be:

Breakfast: Porridge, banana and honey

Mid-morn snack: Big handful of almonds

Lunch: Tuna pasta

Mid-Day: Whey Protein powder shake and an apple

Supper: Lemon chicken breasts and salad

Last scoff eaten before 2000hrs: Bowl of cereal and skim milk

A BAD day (Bavarian Day)

Breakfast: Wiesswurst, sweet mustard, Brezen and a Weissbier (that's right - a beer before High Noon!)

Lunch: Schweinhaxn and Knodel (Pork hock and dumplings), 1 'Mass' of Helles (lager, 1ltr)

2 more Mass of Helles

Dinner: Swiebelrostbraten, bratkartoffel und sauce (Fried onions on steak w/ fried potatoes and gravy). Schnapps. More beer.

I don't agree with that.

I know - it sounds dreadful, doesn't it? There's so much fat on offer here in the South of Germany! I didn't even list the fact that sometimes I'll have dessert as well e.g. fried battered apple rings and ice cream or 'Kaiserschmarn' which is shredded pancakes w/ fruit and powdered sugar.

It's not often I'll have all that in one day though :rotf:

nothing wrong with fat! Processed Sugar is the enemy!

The Scottish Diet:

"Any and all thing you can eat
But this proportion always heed:
A third from fat
A third from sugar
A third from alcohol
From time to time, you can eat a small amount of fruits, in the form of jams or preserves, or even better, distilled."

My nemesis is portion. I can't justify 3/4 of a cup as a 'serving of cereal'.

Actually I should say I don't agree with the eating part when it comes to being in shape. The eating part obviously makes a big difference in looks though. I look pretty soft because I don't eat right but I run and workout very well.

You do a lot of cardio. The average person isn't as active as you. I do believe optimum results are achieved through diet. I hate dieting.
