What you guys think of Arlovski's, Machida's and Bisping's fights?
With Arlovski I was pretty sure he wouldn't go to the ground with a jiu-jitsu specialist. And so it appeared, even after hurting him in the first round - he went all the distance and I think it was a wise decision.
Machida's fight was abit boring and was like watching a karate tournament fight. But, nevertheless - great reaction demonstration from both, until Machida started with the series of knees. That dude was pretty strong for not being koes. His face was a mess. I was pretty sure it'll be a tko and that was my bet before the fight, but it ended up with a decision.
And Bisping - damn, the dude seems to have a simple street fighting style, but sometimes it's fun watching Trafalgar Squaire punk fighting if executed well. Elvis had something going there, but Bisping reversed it on pure agression I think and beat the living crap out of him.

bisbing reversed because he has pretty good jujitsu too. he's pretty complete fighter except for maybe in the chin department, i've seen him dropped a couple of times, other than chuck i'd give him a decent shot against most the light heavies in the division and would pick him over the likes of ortiz, forrest, and jardine.

The Arlovski fight was fucking boring. Thats two times he's pulled this shit. He seems like he's so scared of losing that he's no longer aggressive in there. Fighters need to fight with the intention of finishing a fight. I'm tired of this just being safe and getting the points this isn't olympic boxing.
I didn't see the Machida fight but once again he wins. Its time for him to face a top 10 light hw. I'd like to see him in there with Tito, lil Nog, Shogun etc.
I agree about Bisping's chin being questionable. That will make him that much more fun to watch though. His aggressive style works against him sometimes. I thought Elvis was lousy, he was looking for a place to fall his guard was laughable. Bisping vs. Forrest would be good right now. I think Forrest could beat him.

It might look boring (at least the second and the 3rd round were). Yet again - it's a sport now and not a street brawl, like the first UFCs were, so one side of it is entertaining the blood-thirsty crowd, the other is sticking to the strategy. IMO Arlovski succeded in doing it. His losses to Silvia were too much for him, just 'cos Arlovski is couple levels above Silvia, which made it more frustriating.

Fuck that it's boring! The only strategy from both of them was not to get hurt. I'm not one of those fans that just wants to see sloppy boxing and knockouts, very much the contrary actually. I was looking forward to Werdum getting Arlovski on the ground and attempting some subs to see Arlovski's sub defense. And I know Werdum is as much to blame as Arlovski for the fight sucking but , like you, I hold Arlovski to a higher standard and expect more out of him because of his ability. That Silvia knockout must've really traumatized him.

Yeah, I agree, the fight lacked some edge for sure, although being smart, Arlovski lacked adrenaline, when he didn't use the first round to hurt Werdum even more. It was like "no no, not getting to the ground" written on his forehead lol
And Werdum is definitely capable of much more. If the other guy defends take downs - it doesn't mean there shouldn't be any attempts for take downs. And there almost weren't any.
Hope next event will have more action, executed professionally. I wonder what ol' good Captain America will bring to the ring this time. never been Randy's big fan, but when the man's in the zone, he is in the ZONE!
