What did I tell you Rebel? I told you not to look past Gonzaga and assume that Cro Cop wins for sure. Gonzaga is a good fighter. Gonzaga knocked Cro Cop the fuck out...brutally.

Fucking brutal wow
One of the worst Ko's ever, wow. Now I really want Fedor to start fighting the top guys from now on. No one is invincible.

Yeah Fedor has a good overall resume but lately he is fighting junk. Have to admit that I was surprised how Gonzaga won. I thought he could take him down and work him, not KHTFO:24: BTW- Did you notice what a ridiculous stand up that was :whatver: Trying to protect there investment but he got KTFO anyways.
It was pretty obvious that they stood them up to give Cro Cop a chance to KO Gonzaga. That backfired as bad as it could.
This also crushes that myth that Pride Heavyweights are superior. The UFC heavyweight division is looking awesome now. Mino, Randy, Gonzaga, Cro Cop, Vera, Arlovski and Werdum will create some great fights. Now I really want Fedor over here. I doubt he could go through all of those fighters and walk away undefeated.

Is it just me or did Crocop's ankle look fucked the hell up?

He has to have some kind of ligament damage in his ankle. The body is not meant to be bent like that.

Yeah I had saw Gonzaga's last fight and he looked pretty fucking strong and good on the ground. The kick shocked everyone I think (including Cro Cop) :funny:
Randy Couture called the upset. He actually said he would rather face Cro Cop because of styles. People kinda laughed at him but stylewise he is right. Gonzaga is good on the ground so even if Couture takes him down a lot, Gonzaga is always dangerous. Where as with Cro Cop if you get him down he don't do to much off his back.

Fedor is a bit different. How do you beat him besides a cut? He almost got KO'ed by Fugita but recovered and has beaten better strikers. Has beaten excellent wrestlers and beat the best sub guy. Hopefully he starts fighting real competition again pretty soon.

It looked twisted, maybe cracked abit, but not broken I think, it ain't unusual to twist it like that while stretching, but falling on it like that can surely cause some damage.
He'll recover from that for sure, but the question is - will he recover from the ko mentally? The dude was ko'ed in the same exact way like he used to ko others.

Unless he'll just choose to retire. Who knows, it could be wise decision. On the other hand, if he retires now in 10 years people might start talking about him like they do about Rickson.

Unlike Rickson though Fedor actually beat top competition. I don't think he should retire though he can still make a lot of money.

Maybe you're right. Although the russian mentality is different. It's pretty common for russian sportsmen to retire at a relatively young age and devote themselves to training or other sport areas.

Yes, that stand up with 30 seconds to go was pathetic. Gonzaga was plenty busy when the ref stood them up.
Further, did you see the ref's face when CroCop got KTFO?

Dang, that's a harsh joke Rebs lol
That ko really was brutal as fuck, haven't seen such a precise devastating kick in awhile in mma.
CroCop actually koed A.Emilianenko the same way if I remember correctly, but that one didn't look as brutal, or maybe just the twisted leg added some magical spice hehe

Under Pride rules, yes. IMO, Fedor is still the greatest of all-time and he's from Pride.

The only Pride division that I really thought was MUCH superior was heavyweight. Hell, most everyone thought as much. However it really don't look that way now. Besides Fedor any of the other guys can lose to guys that were in the UFC. It's not really relevant anymore anyways since UFC owns them all. You can still call them Pride fighters but the truth is they are all getting paid by the UFC owners now.

I like Fedor too ... But which of his fights in particular makes you think he's the best EVER?

Doesn't matter who's paying them ... If they continue to fight overseas & under Pride rules, they are still Pride fighters.
I'm not sure if the UFC owners plan to merge them or not. I doubt it. The fighters just won't be bound as tight by a contract.

What's the point of arguing about Pride and UFC when they are owned by the same people? There really isn't 1.

I would say his entire domination over all the different world class styles he's faced. Have you followed his career? The dude has been a beast to date.

I always wanted to see him fight Josh Barnett. I think he has the toughest style for Fedor. In the UFC though Fedor would be a good bit more vulnerable than he is in Pride because he cuts so much.
Good Point.
Elbows in UFC
Could be trouble...maybe that effected cro-cop...

Never have I been happier about being wrong!
I never saw Gonzaga fight before but I'm a fan now! He's an absolute beast, no luck in that win whatsoever. And he looks like Vincent D'onofrio (Private pyle from Full Metal jacket) so it makes him even cooler! I can't wait to see him attack old man River.

Trust me, I agree. I was just wondering why you thought he was the best ever?
He is basically undefeated & he HAS fought & handled everysingle style out there. The only real argument is between him & Rickson. I prefer Fedor.
I think we'll learn more about Fedor when he starts to face these UFC guys. I'm slowly becoming a Fedor fan. I love his concept of fighting. But I'm just not so confident that he can face Cotoure, Arvlowski, Gonzaga, Cro-Cop (He'll be back), Silvia w/o out losing to one of the guys.
