Is anyone a fan of the Ultimate Fighter series? Season 5 premieres today. I enjoy the show and recommend it to anyone that enjoys MMA.

It was pretty good. Pulver looked like a midget though. Anyways I can't wait to see Nate Diaz fight. Plus the 155lb weight class should make for some good fights this season.

I think the fact that its 16 guys all going for the same thing makes it way more interesting this year! There can be no friends, no alliances cause in the end its you against everybody else.

Nate Diaz is gonna rep the crazy mexicans I can see it already, getting street just like his brother. That family seriously can't let go of things and chill out.
But thats why I like Nick Diaz so much cause he just don't give a fuck!

I like both Jens and BJ, but Penn is one of my favorite fighters ever. I think one guy said it best when explaining who he wanted as coach, paraphrasing here. " In 30 years no one will remember Jens Pulver. But in 30 years they'll remember who BJ Penn was."

I personally think that TUF is a disgrace to martial arts, all this reality tv stuff has gotten outrageous.
Look at them - training in an air conditioned hall (it's not even a proper gym for this stuff), they live in a fuckin' mension (or at least shoot there). They get the emotional stuff envolved with one of the guys nearly crying. It's disgusting.
When I watch something that's supposed to be concentrated on mma - I want to see brutal and creative fighting action, not a bunch of sissy boys going into mouth wars. Why don't they just add some gay scenes and go for Tony awards or something.

Cheerz!!

I like the show but it proves that MMA has a long way to go...the guy that lost has been training in MMA for a whopping 1 1/2 years while running a restaraunt and has managed to get himself into a position to be vying for a shot at the major leagues (ufc) ???? :headscratch:

Don't let that bitch who was crying ruin it for the rest of them. They're all pretty good fighters and we should respect them.

Obviously our up and coming talent pool isn't very deep, but you just wait. Sooner or later a lot of Americans from all backgrounds will join the MMA explosion and perform at high levels on a regular basis.

I understand that many people can like a show of this kind. But with all do respect, I was a training and competitive fighter for 17 years, so maybe 2-3 of those people on that show get my respect, Jens Pulver not included. But that's only my opinion. I just don't like too much commercial stuff when it comes to martial arts. The last level on the way to a total sell out will be if all these guys will be obligated to look like bodybuilders, I'm happy it didn't happen until now.

Cheerz!!

P.S. - Happy mma weekend to you all. I'll be online watching it all on the streams of mma tv.

I believe today is the episode where Nick Diaz's brother wants to throw down with someone from the show. Hopefully, that pussy who was crying gets his ass handed to him soon. :box1:

I don't really know any of the guys besides Diaz and Joe-son who knocked out Pulver. So he's got to be a favorite obviously.
Then there's that 6'4 freak of nature that's got to be a tough match up for anybody!

I'll go with Joe Lauzon to win but I'm pulling for Nasty Nate Diaz!

What do you think Nick Diaz would do to his brother if he came home a loser in the first round of the show? Probably an ass whopping waiting at the front door huh? haha!

Nate Diaz!!! Great fight with Emerson.

Check out Jens Pulver's blog. He gives pretty good insight on the episodes.

It's probably a little late, but WTF is that Gabe dude doing on the show? The dude is a true fag and on the last show they all kept giving him a hard time about the colonic(sp?). I can't wait to see that homosexual crushed. Seriously, the dude is pathetic.

For real he was pissing me off. I mean its obvious that they bring in a lot of inexperienced guys with "personality" just to make the show more interesting but shit this Gaybe guy is just a camera whore looking for exposure. In what I have no idea cause he don't look like much of a fighter.

Tonight's show solidified how gay the show is this season. The Asian dude cried like a 6 month old who hasn't been fed in 2 days.

That said, I'll still watch it to watch the real fighters like Corey and Nate. I'm rooting for them to kick all of their asses.

that asian dude had to be the stupidest mf to ever step into an octagon, he has a black belt in jujitsu, fighting a guy who's bigger, heavier, and is a kickboxer and all he can come up with is a wild right hand which he threw about 100 times. he didn't listen to any of his coaches and never attempted to shoot and take down, then breaks down like a little bitch when he loses, also the foam that was building up on the sides of his mouth during his video interviews was making me nauseous.

My thoughts exactly. And I watch basically for the same reasons Rebel said also. Did anyone catch the replay of Nick Diaz vs Kayro after the show? That was a good fight. I had Nick winning it, but i guess i could see the way the judges did. Is it just me or is Nick Diaz never in a boring fight?

i did, that was one of the best technically fought matches ever in the ufc. diaz is a tough bastard, he gave sanchez hell too and just beat one of the best fighters in pride.

Fuck I missed last nights episode but it sounds like I didn't miss much!
I might just have to skip the episodes not involving Nate Diaz and Corey fighting. But I will tune in to see Gaybe get his head smashed....and then ofcourse cry afterward.

Gabe's not a bad fighter. In fact record wise he has 1 of the better records on the show. His standup isn't much but he's pretty slick on the ground. That being said I hope his lazy ass, get's his ass kicked on the next show by Corey.

I just watched some parts of it on rerun. I almost frikkin' puked on the screen man.
As I said from chapter one of this season - this show is a disgrace to mma. Hell with mma - this show sucks, period.
I skipped couple episodes and just watched like 10 minutes out of interest. Pathetic stuff really.

Yes, because he truly becomes a man when he's on the floor with something he sees as a cupcake. Seriously, this guy is a fag and I hope Dana gives him a shot later against someone decent so he can get assraped the way he loves it. :24:

Valdosta

He's already had a chance when he fought Melvin Gullard and lost. Not sure what the show has to do with him in his previous fights. He fought before and is decent. Is he a dumbass? Yes without a doubt. He was sporting a gut on the fight day despite being like the 5th fight. He ate like a pig obviously.

Emerson beat Hill in a boring fight but got robbed so Hill Advanced. Lauzon destroyed his opponent. Pulver said something like "At least I didn't get KO'ed by a bitch". :funny:

Laztrooper

Emerson got robbed man. Hill came out firing for all of 5 seconds and then went into a shell. I can't believe he had the nerve to say he left it all out there.

Rebel
05-11-2007, 04:04 PM
Hill/Emerson: Talk about being all bark. That fight was so close because no one would take enough chances to seal it clearly. However, I do give props to Emerson. He was the one physically at a disadvantage yet he was still the more aggressive of the two and showed he wanted it a bit more. I had him the winner as well.

Rebel
05-25-2007, 02:20 AM
What did you all think of tonight's fight? I like both guys as they both have skills. I still can't get over the fact that Lauzon is on the show and he previously destroyed Pulver. LOL

How about Diaz/Hill in 2 weeks? I feel that Diaz is going to outwork him because he has more hunger and experience. Hill has a lot of raw talent, but he couldn't seem to pull the trigger against Emerson.

Hill was exposed as an awkward guy with zero skill...his size and athleticism will make him sorta difficult for many guys but he is NOT talented by any means
