the event is being held in the US. I like this pride a lot more than the last shitty Pride in the US. Silva-Henderson, Gomi-Diaz and Misaki-Trigg are all interesting fights.

4 fights, 3 upsets and the biggest upset possibly in MMA history. LOL. Can't believe Rogerio Nogeira just got laid the fuck out. Trig laid and prayed on Misaki.

Gomi-Diaz was an absolute war. Gomi dropped Diaz in round 1 but after that Diaz did well. Gomi seemed to tire out quickly. Gomi took Diaz down in round 2 and got caught in a sub for the Diaz win. Great fight.

Henderson just knocked Wanderlai Silva out after a great fight in round 3. Henderson just won the title at 205. Great win for him.

That was a great Pride show. Much better than that first piece of shit they brought to America.

Although it was a great pride show it probably didn't give the results they wanted. Takanori Gomi losses, Wanderlai Silva losses, Little Nog losses and Misaki losses as well. Gomi and Misaki lost to 2 former UFC rejects.

Silva looked horrible. Looked extremely slow and stiff. I don't know if he didn't recover from the Cro Cop KO or Henderson was just that good. Either way, Lidell would have stopped him tonight early.

Now that Silva is not champ Shougun should get his much desreved title shot and I would favor him over Henderson.

Lidell always would have beaten Silva. Silva has tons of flaws but people just overlook them and point out Lidell's flaws. I never could quite understand that. Shogun-Henderson would be a good fight. Henderson has the advantage standing, Shogun has the advantage on the ground I think.

BTW- Does Takanori Gomi look like a paper champ now or what?

great show

does anyone notice how most mma guys just wing their punches?

Diaz is the only one that actually threw punches like he knew what he was doing

I don't think Lidell would have beat Silva at any point. He just so much better of a fighter VS. Mezger, Rampage, etc. but not yesterday. Especially of his back VS. Yoshida. He just looked so bad yesterday.

Gomi fights at 160 so in the UFC he'd be 155. He still a top fighter but definetly not #1

I'd favor Shogun standing & on the ground VS. Henderson.

IMO... overall it was a good night... pretty entertaining... trigg's fight was the only boring fight (out of like 9 fights)....

gomi looked like he trains like penn does... and silva did look flat tonight... but that might be due to handerson... regardless... wandy needs like one or two soft touches and then a serious fight...

Not sure Gomi could make 155, he already cuts a lot of weight. He's not number 1 I agree on that.

No way is Shogun better on his feet than Henderson. I was watching Nakamura outstrike him on his feet to the point where Shogun just kept the fight on the ground for a boring win. I think Henderson has better stand up by a good bit.

i'm not so sure about lidell beating silva... the same silva that fought hunt

chuck is educated and has heavy hands... but he definately isn't as versatile as henderson.... dan uses kicks and his grappling/shooting is much better then chuck's.... lidell uses his impressive wrestling background for his takedown defense (pretty much solely).... chuck's biggest weapon against wandi is his cross and use of angles.... chuck wouldn't utilize grappling nearly like dan did... silva does well at pushing the pace and wearing down opponents.... wandi's biggest faults are his wide guard stance and his somewhat looping punches...

When you rush Lidell with wide and looping punches you get caught and KTFO. That is what I thought would happen to Silva. Lidell would have beaten him I think but we will never know for sure either way.

Nakamura is pretty underated and would give Henderson fits as well. Dan has some good punches but Shogun is more of a complete stand up fighter fighter with kicks, punches, knees, etc. I'm looking foward to the fight.

I would have favored Silva over Liddell back when Wanderlei beat Rampage the first time. He seemed trimmer and more mobile and less predictable.

Now he just looks like a roided up beast, very slow and robotic almost.
I don't see him sticking around in the 205's anymore.

Other than the first round, Gomi totally got owned, particularly in the 2nd round. Dude ran out of gas quickly.
